NEW YORK TRIBUNE, July 7, 1863 - The Battle Field Around Gettysburg

NEW YORK TRIBUNE, July 7, 1863  One of the more graphic & displayable Battle of Gettysburg newspapers as the front page features a very large and detailed map headed: "THE BATTLE-FIELD AROUND GETTYSBURG".

The first column heads on the front page include: "The Great Victory" "Our Whole Army in Motion" "Gen. Meade's Headquarters Near Frederick" "The Rebel Army Still Struggling to Escape" "Our Cavalry Reaping Harvests of Stragglers" "Destruction of Bridges on the Potomac" "Movements of Auxiliary Union Forces" "Gen. Couch Marching on the Rebel Flank" "Strong Hopes For A Wholesale Capture" "Gen. Meade's Congratulatory Address" with the entire front page taken up with reports relating to Gettysburg, carrying over to the back page as well. Additional Civil War reports are on inside pages.

Eight pages, some very light damp staining at the left side, very nice condition. Not only a very historic issue, but a great newspaper for display given the large map.
