The only line between Chicago and Kansas Operated by One Company. 1831 THEN AND NOW 1876. A wonderful broadside depicting the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Rail Road in 1831 and in 1876. "The first excursion trip with a trqain of passenger cars was made from Albany to Schenectady, on August 9th, 1831. Before the train started, a sketch was made by an artist and cut out of black paper, as shown herewith. The original picture was presented by the artist to the Connecticut Historical Society...."
