Canadian Land Promtional - 1913

ROSS, William R. Fort George Land Recording Division. . . . [Victoria, B.C.: Department of Lands, Printed by William H. Cullin, 1913]. Tall 8vo. 23, [1] pp. With 2 photographic plates. Light-green color tinted softcovers, decorative border & lettering in black on front cover (light interior toning, minor shelf-wear, very minor foxing to lower fore-edge, and slight bumping to corner), still VG copy. First edition of this scarce land promotion touting the opportunities of the fast developing Fort George area encompassing South Fort George, Central Fort George, and nearby town sites of Birmingham, Fort Salmon, Nechako Heights, and Willow City after the completion of the Grand Trunk Railway. The railway line was completed by 1914, connecting to the town site named Prince George, owned by the railway -- although the other land developers would fight to have their own railway station, the Grand Trunk won and a new city named Prince George resulted. Ross details the resources and growth possibilities in the Chilako Valley, Lower Nechako, The Willow and Bear Rivers, South Fork of the Fraser River, Canoe River Valley, and more. Worldcat locates 4 copies (Yale, U of Alberta, New Caledonia, UBC).
