Loving Sons Here with my Report to you and your Hoping it Will Find you in good Helth.
Your Mother Died on Tuefday Night being the Night but one before out publick last and this is the firft opportunity I Have had to Inform you. We are in our ufuall State of Health at prefent blefed to God For it...also it is a Time of generall Health With our Friends and nabours.
Being in Haft I add no more but my Love to you and all Enquiring acquantence.

Folded letter into fours (8 ½ x 7 ½ inch) with red sealing wax closure. A chip where sealing was was opened plus a complete separation of the letter at the center fold.
Very readable.
Hezekiah Sabin of Killingly, Connecticut, the author of the letter was born Nov. 5, 1692 in Woodstock, Connecticut. He died about 1762 in Killingly, Connecticut. His wife Zereviah Hosper (b. Oct. 9, 1695) and he were married in 1718. According to this letter she evidently died sometime in July of 1758.
The son Lieutenant Colonel Hezekiah, to whom the letter is written, was born September 5, 1720 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut and died on March 7, 1791 in New Haven County, New Haven, Connecticut.
